Bunch of SALs

Last weekend was IHSW again. Like Joyce, I had the dilemma of being torn between stitching and Diablo III. Thanks to Blizzard, it's Diablo III Open Beta Weekend. Yes, of all the weekends they picked, it had to coincide with IHSW. What's a girl to do?
Fret not, I did manage to get some stitches in. Say hi to Stella again :)
I'm still having so much fun with her it's unbelivable.
Yesterday was once again our weekly 6 Fat Man SAL. I had more fun stitching letters this time. Don't you just love the "o" in snowmen?
Finished off two more boring borders. That's four down, two to go. Hopefully, after next Monday, it will be on to the fun part.
On a sadder note, I found out today that my favourite painter, Thomas Kinkade, has passed away on 6 April 2012. He was 54. Known as the "Painter of Light", I fell in love with his paintings the first time I laid eyes on them. My favourite is his Sweetheart Cottage II. All those hidden hearts throughout the painting. How could one not love that?
So as a tribute to him, I took this month's TUSAL pic with two of Kinkade's jigsaw puzzles that I own as backdrop.
On top of this, I also found out the previous day that Roger, the gentleman who created and manufactured the Stitchmate floor stand had passed away last Wednesday via Valerie's blog. More details here. I've always thought that someday, one day, I would own a StitchMate. His passing is a great loss to the stitching community.
Talk about a bummer way to start the week. May these two gentlemen who has brought great joy to many in their lifetime rest in peace.

Hello Veronica,

It is always boring to stitch borders, which I am 100 % agreed on.

Your lady looks very elegant and your work is gorgeous.

Cheers

I know so sad about Thomas Kinkade and Roger with Stitchmate. I am lucky to have the stand but I only have one scroll rod since he never got to my order. I will find another way to make do.

Love, love, love Stella! Oh she is gorgeous and your snowmen are coming along. I really like the fabric you chose to stitch it on.

Beautiful Stella! That fabric really compliments her dress perfectly! Great progress on your SAL! I love the red cardinal on that mailbox! So cute!

So sad about both Thomas and Roger passing away. Those paintings are lovely and what a nice way to place your TUSAL jar to honor his memory.

Hugs

Stella is gorgeous, as always! I think the 6 Fat Men is a really cute design. Won't be long now before you can start the fun stuff. :)

Stella is just so gorgeous! The fabric complements her perfectly.

Won't be long now before you can get on to stitching the snowmen. They're all so cute! I hate doing borders but they do have to be done.

I was very saddened by the news of both of those gentlemen passing as well. My mother LOVED Thomas Kinkade.

Oh my..don't tell my hubby aout Diablo III! He's been wanting it to come out so badly!!

Stella is gorgeous...I so love that fabby!

I can't wait until you get to start stitching some of the "fat men!" hahahaha

I see some ribbon in your TUSAL! What piece did I miss that you had ribbon on?

She looks beautiful!

I am waiting for Diablo III. I haven't been on beta at all and I have never tried it. I've been playing WoW for few years now and I'll get Diablo III for free. Happy to get it though, it looks great :)

I love your projects! Stella is so beautiful and the I'm very curious to see your progress on the snowmen. The o is indeed very beautiful.
Your fabric is in both stitching pieces so well chosen! It's also sad to hear people die at such a young age and the way you gave tribute to Thomas Kinkade is is so sweet. I have several of his designs ready to stitch one day, when I have lots of time:-)

Your stitching is so lovely! What a beautiful lady you are working on!! I have all the patterns, the fabric and the floss, but just haven't had time to make a start on 6 Fat Man...yours is coming along beautifully!! Once the borders are done (I agree they are boring to work on) you'll have much more fun...hang in there! *Hugs*

Stella looks beautiful and I hope you enjoyed Diablo! I was very sad to hear about Thomas Kinkade as well, I love his art. He painted the places I've always seen in my heart but was unable to express myself.
