Boring Borders

Here's my rather pitiful progress for Monday's 6 Fat Man SAL.
I just plain dislike stitching dull and repetitive borders. Okay, maybe not so much repetitive in this case but gosh is it boring. That's probably why progress was so slow? I'll try to do better next Monday.
After weeks of not stitching on Stargazer, it's now Stella time. Oh, have I missed her.
Happy Stitching!

The colors are pretty though, at least. :D It's looking nice! I hear you on boring borders though.

Hey, you're doing great - that's 2 out of 6 already! Nice progress!

I feel your pain! I did a boarder once (also doing one now) with gold metallic thread. Boring boarder + impossible to work with thread = a whole lot of aggravation... But the end product always looks so great! Hang in there :)

Beautiful colours. I really love the fabric you've chosen. I took mine to craft club yesterday and just stitched white! I was so pleased to get onto some different colours last night!

Hang in there Veronica! It's going to be a darling piece when you're all finished... Love the little bird house you've already done :)

Boring, but ever so worth it - just look at that great birdhouse you already have done! Maybe you should reward yourself with another design before stitching more border.

I try to do borders and fill in's when I'm watching something I enjoy on dvd or television. I find it takes my mind of the boring stitching - in fact it can be quite relaxing if you're tired.

It will be worth it in the end as it will look fantastic. At least you have a pretty birdhouse and to cute little birdies to cheer on your progress.

At least you are getting the boring part out of the way first. :)

But the colors are so pretty! Don't worry. You'll be done with the borders in no time!

Borders aren't my favorite things to stitch either...Like backstitching..eek..but it always looks nice when it's done.

I'd definitely rather do borders than BACKSTITCHING!

Looks lovely!

I'm liking the borders on this project!! LOL...but it is my first small count linen project (been strictly 14 ct aida here), so I am really, really struggling with it. I'm doing pretty good at the borders though!

Borders can definitely get boring, but I still think you made great progress!

Nice progress on your 6 fat men! I love the bird house and the birds. I wonder if I can somehow stitch that next Monday. I'd have to stitch the red border first but then i could do the birdhouse and birds!

It will get more exciting soon! I could not be this disciplined :)

As I know how awful all that border stitching can be, I think you made a wonderful progress. I often try to do the borders at times when I want to watch television or something like that.

Just think of it like this: When the borders are done and you get to stitch the fun parts.

But it's looking pretty!!
Just like Linda said above, once those borders are done you'll get to the fun part :)

Well the frames may be boring, but the dyed floss makes them look really good! Pretty fabric, too. :)

Yes, but it's no-thinking stitching and it's the perfect kind for TV watching! And the birdhouse... so cute!

Those little birdies are very cute, a great start, i don't think anyone likes stitching borders, its the panic in case they dont match up!

The colours just pop beautifully on your fabric! Borders are boring but nice to get out of the way!

Hi Veronica,
Thank you for stopping by my blog :)
Borders are like griding, it's mind-numbing and boring, but you can do it while watching TV, and before you know it they're done and very useful for the rest of the project :)
Lovely fabric choice, by the way

Love the colors on your borders, and I am with you on repetitive borders being boring!
